Examinations of a Horizontal Stabile Pressure Vessel for Liquid Petrol Gas Storing

Opravljene so bile preiskave za oceno uporabnosti tlacne posode
prostornine 150 m 3 , ki bi jo narocnik zelel uporabiti za
skladiscenje propan butana. Po predpisih se za izdelavo take
tlacne posode zahteva jeklo z najmanjso natezno trdnostjo 400
MPa, mejo plasticnosti 260 MPa in udarno zilavostjo Charpy-V 28 J
pri temperaturi -20 stopinj C. Narocnik je predlozil pomanjkljivo
tehnicno dokumentacijo, pri vizualni kontroli pa smo odkrili tudi
vecje korozijske poskodbe na plascu posode. Zato je Institut za
kovinske materiale in tehnologije predlozil sanacijo tlacne
posode in vse potrebne preiskave za dokaz uporabnosti tlacne
posode za uteko~injeni naftni plin.

Tests for applicability of pressure vessel of volume 150 m 3 for
liquid petrol gas storing has been performed. According to
regulations, a steel with tensile strength at least 400 MPa,
yield stress 260 MPa, and impact toughness Charpy-V 28 J at
temperature -20 degrees C, is required. The technical documentation
submitted by the client is insufficient. By visual control, we
have observed bigger corrosion damages on the pressure vessel
wall. Therefore, Institute of metals and technology suggested the
improvement of pressure vessel together with all necessary tests
for proving applicability of the vessel for liquid petrol gas.
