Mascenje je pomemben postopek "mokre" dodelave usnja, ki
zmanjsuje trenje med vlakni in njihovo sprijemanje med susenjem.
Pravilno masceno usnje je mehko in prozno. Polimerna mastilna
sredstva so nova generacija usnjarskih pomoznih sredstev, ki se
kemicno vezejo na usnjeno snov. V osnovi so to modificirani
poliakrilati z razlicnimi stranskimi skupinami. Mastilni,
polnilni in vodoodbojni ucinki na usnje so odvisni od njihove
sestave in strukture. Nekaj izbranih polimernih mastilnih
sredstev razlicne sestave smo preizkusili za mascenje svinjskega
usnja. S standardnimi metodami smo dolocili kvaliteto dodelanega
usnja in preucevali razlike glede na standardne mastilne
postopke.

Fatliquoring is one of the most important operations of leather
"wet" processing; it reduces friction between fibres and prevents
their gluing during drying processes. Properly fatliquored
leather remains soft and elastic. Polymer fatliquoring agents are
a new generation of leather auxiliary agents, which can be bonded
to the leather substance. Mainly, they are modified polyacrylates
which contain different reactive side groups. Their fatliquoring,
filling and waterproof effects are dependent on their chemical
composition and structure. Some different typs of polymer
fatliquoring agents were used for the treatment of pig skin
leather. Using standard testing methods the properties of treated
leather were determined and the effects of fatliquoring were
compared to those of the traditional agents.
